But the mother of twins has hidden a dark secret — she was convicted of fraud in 2020.
She had lied about having stage three gastric cancer in 2017, with a fundraising page set up, The Sun reported.
She would claim to be in the hospital and have treatments such as radiotherapy. Friends accused her of ripping off their family members.
“Yes, it happened years ago, but lying about cancer is really wrong. Lots of her followers will have family members living with cancer, but little do they know that every time they watch one of her videos, they are giving money to a fraud,” one person close to her told the publication.
Now, after friends accused her of deleting comments surrounding her lies, the influencer has broken her silence about her past.
In a tearful video, the roast potato influencer opened up by saying she never wanted to talk about that part of her life because it was “a really difficult time for me.”
She said she owed it to her supporters to tell the truth and put a stop to people “twisting” the story.
“Back in 2017, I had really bad mental health and I didn’t realise how bad, but it was bad,” she said.
“I was depressed, I was suicidal, I was lost, and I was confused. I’d lost my partner, I’d lost my job, and there were lots of things in that year that led me to be mentally ill.”
The mom-of-two said she shared something with someone in her immediate circle with confidence — something she now “deeply regrets.”
“I said I had an illness, which was cancer,” she recalled.
Miller denied that she told the lie maliciously or with an intention to scam people it in a desperate bid to keep the people in her life close to her.
She said she didn’t condone it, understood her reasoning behind it, and learnt from her mistakes.
“This was not a long-running scam or a manipulative story like it’s been made out to be,” she said.
“The people that I told then told a couple of others, and there was a fundraising page made on behalf of me, which I knew about. As soon as I saw it had donations — it had two donations — I had it taken down.
“I didn’t take a penny from it.”
She said she has grown from what happened, and she is working on being the best version of herself.
“I forgive myself because I was mentally ill and I am so deeply sorry to anyone whom I have upset or triggered with what I’ve said,” she told her followers, adding it was years before she had a social media presence.
Ms Miller said she was grateful to her partner for helping her “be well again.”
