“Thank you to @realdonaldtrump for taking the time to meet hero SCPD Officer Brendan Gallagher!” the Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association posted to social media on Thursday.

“Even with the most demanding job in the world, President Trump is never too busy to make time for the men and women in blue,” the association wrote alongside a photo of Gallagher and Trump flashing smiles and holding out a thumbs up.

The driver, identified by Newsday as 29-year-old Brentwood resident Cody Fisher, lost control of his vehicle during the attempted stop around exit 55 on the Long Island Expressway, police said.

His car rammed into Gallagher’s squad car, causing it to flip over, authorities said.

Gallagher was airlifted to the hospital by a helicopter that had to land on the roadway.

His abdominal muscles had been “completely lacerated open” in the dramatic crash.

“He spent nine days on life support after that. … He’s been working like a champ, working really, really aggressively to get better,” Stony Brook’s head of trauma, Dr. James Vosswinkel, said when Gallagher was wheeled out of the hospital to much applause in late January.

“The word miracle, miraculous, sometimes is overstated. It is not in this case,” Vosswinkel said.

It was the second time Gallagher had been injured on the job during his three-year tenure on the force.

He was previously stabbed in the chest — through his bulletproof vest — while trying to subdue an unhinged man, police said.

The SCPD did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the details of Gallagher’s meet-and-greet with Trump.

The White House did not respond to a comment.
