Tiffany Haddish Shoots Her Shot With Yankees Right Fielder Giancarlo Stanton On ‘Today With Jenna & Friends’: “He Hasn’t Been Answering My Calls”

Tiffany Haddish tried her luck one more time on Today With Jenna & Friends after Jenna Bush Hager surprised her during her last appearance with a video message from her celebrity crush, Running Point actor Toby Sandeman.

Haddish used her interview with Bush Hager to shoot her shot with yet another celebrity she has her eyes on: Yankees right fielder and designated hitter, Giancarlo Stanton.

“I’m also trying to get at Giancarlo Stanton, number 27 from the New York Yankees,” Haddish announced, prompting laughter from Bush Hager and her co-host Carson Daly.

Haddish joked, “I noticed his phone number’s changed. He hasn’t been answering my calls.”

Bush Hager then called Haddish out for duping the internet into thinking she had a baby with Jason Lee after the pair shared a photo together with a baby. But Daly proposed she could use a similar trick to get Stanton’s attention.

“Why don’t you post a picture of a baby in a Yankees jersey that says number 27 and just leave it at that?” he asked.

“I feel like nobody’s gonna get that but if it’s me and Giancarlo Stanton standing next to together, and I’m holding my belly and I’m like, ‘Cat’s in the bag!’” Haddish responded.

It could work out. Haddish was spotted out with Sandeman after she declared him her celebrity crush. The pair even dressed up together for Halloween as Severance characters Mark and Helly.

However, Haddish denied that they are an item.

“He’s not ugly, I can tell you that much. I like beautiful friends,” she told Bush Hager, adding, “We’re just pals but you know how I work.”

But Bush Hager certainly put in a good word for Haddish. Sandeman surprised her with a video message when she guest hosted Today With Jenna & Friends in April.

“A little birdie told me that I’m your favorite character on Running Point,” he said. “Always did think you had great taste. I’m in Ireland right now, but I wanted you to know that I will be tuning in and rooting for you. Now before I go, let’s take care of a little business. I think we need to get you on Running Point to play my wife. What are your thoughts?”

Haddish leapt at the chance to join him on Running Point. “Yes, I do. I do, and I do!” she said. “We can play pretend and we can play for real. I just, oh my goodness. I think that was beautiful! I’m gonna call Kate Hudson and say, ‘Girl, he offered me a job!’ I think I need to get a ticket to Ireland. We’ve gotta do a chemistry test!”
