Though the source said Markle has a small role in the Jason Orley-directed film, they claimed “she seemed very relaxed and happy.”
“She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth,” the insider said.
Page Six has reached out to Markle’s reps for comment but did not immediately hear back.
As Page Six previously reported, the mom of two joined the cast of “Close Personal Friends,” which also stars Jack Quaid, Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
Markle, 44, will reportedly play herself in the film, which follows two couples: one famous and the other not.
“This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves,” a source from production told the US Sun Wednesday, adding that the As Ever founder “has been swamped with offers but this one felt right.”
“It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set,” the insider continued.
“Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement.”
The source also said that Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, is “really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”
In 2017, the “With Love, Meghan” star announced that she was stepping away from acting — and her recurring role as Rachel Zane on “Suits” — amid her engagement to the Duke of Sussex, 41.
Markle made her final appearance on the Season 7 finale of the legal drama series in April 2018. The following month, she and Harry tied the knot in a lavish UK ceremony.
Two years later, the Sussexes quit their duties as working members of the royal family and moved to North America.
The couple now resides in a $14 million Montecito, Calif., mansion with their kids: Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
