Additionally, the Hulu show, in which Kardashian plays formidable divorce lawyer Allura Grant, was slammed by several critics.
USA Today‘s Kelly Lawler called the drama “the worst TV show of the year,” while the Hollywood Reporter’s TV critic Angie Han called the series “brain dead.”
Han also said Kardashian’s performance was “stiff and affectless without a single authentic note. … Her very presence, which succeeds at generating buzz and not much else, feels fitting for a show that seems to want not to be watched so much as mined for viral bits and pieces.”
Lucy Mangan of the Guardian wrote, “I did not know it was still possible to make television this bad.”
The Daily Telegraph’s Ed Power gave “All’s Fair” a one-star rating and slammed Murphy in a review, calling the “American Horror Story” creator “the high priest of tacky, tasteless television.”
Page Six has reached out to both Kardashian and Murphy’s reps for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
Despite the criticism, the show is No. 1 on the streaming charts and fans have been raving about it on social media.
“all’s fair series is fun, c–ty, women led, high fashion, terrible script, horrible acting and believe it or not kim k is not the worst part of it. ryan murphy has done it again im sat,” tweeted one user.
“The show is a fantastic dramedy and the cast is ICONIC. #AllsFair is funny, camp and full of interesting female stories. Critics want to hate on it because of Kim but I hope fans and viewers give it a chance. Also, some fun cameos too,” added another.
“It’s very sad that #AllsFair is being victimized by sexism. It’s a show that isn’t afraid to be bad, it reminded me of old ABC dramas. It’s a very fun show to watch because it’s over-the-top and bad without apprehension, and that’s fantastic,” claimed a third netizen.
“Just watched all 3 episodes of ‘all’s fair’ and I gotta say I LOVE IT Allura grant is a f–king bad ass bitch,” said a fourth supporter.
Episodes 1 to 3 of “All’s Fair” are now streaming on Hulu. New episodes will be released on Tuesdays at midnight ET.
