CSUN Bethesda 72-0
Cal State Northridge opened its 2025-26 season on a 72-0 run against Bethesda ESPN

In a less-than-warm welcome to Premier America Credit Union Arena, the Matadors extinguished the Flames in a 103-13 rout.

CSUN led, 52-0, at halftime and didn’t allow a single point until 4:22 remained in the third quarter.

Bethesda’s Shyann Morreo finally got the Flames on the board with a deep 3-pointer, a shot that sparked applause from the opposing home crowd.

The one-sided affair went viral on social media, with the shocking 72-0 score even being highlighted in a tweet by the SportsCenter X account.

Many were quick to question why the contest went through in the first place, pointing out that the Flames were in no way fit to compete Tuesday night.

A small, private Christian university in Anaheim, Calif., Bethesda has a student body of just under 400 students.

The Flames entered Tuesday on the second leg of a back-to-back — with all but five players battling the flu.

Each of the five Bethesda players played all 40 minutes.

Against San Diego the night prior, Bethesda endured a 92-23 drubbing while playing half of the game with only four players.

The depleted Flames trudged into battle Tuesday night, led by first-year head coach Jamie Newman.

If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the father of former highly touted high school basketball prospect, Julian Newman, who plays for the Bethesda men’s team.

CSUN outrebounded Bethesda, 79-17, forced 21 turnovers, and allowed just four made field goals — 4-for-44, just over nine percent.

The 90-point win marked the biggest in program history.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
