Dick Cheney Dead At 84: Where Is The Christian Bale ‘Vice’ Movie Streaming?

Former United States Vice President Dick Cheney has passed away at the age of 84.

Cheney passed away Monday evening due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease, according to a statement from the family, per Fox News. The late politician, who served as President George W. Bush’s second in command, has been credited as the architect of the Iraq War and was considered one of the most powerful Republicans during his heyday.

Though Cheney was a notoriously mysterious figure, director Adam McKay attempted to shed some light on the enigma in the 2018 political drama Vice, which makes no secret of how Cheney’s influence was perceived at the time. Now, fans can stream the movie from home.

Christian Bale is almost unrecognizable in his Golden Globe winning, Oscar nominated performance as the powerful politician, spanning almost 50 years of his political ascent. The only thing more jarring than his portrayal of Cheney is Sam Rockwell‘s more comedic performance as President Bush – which he has since apologized for – that also earned him an Oscar nom.

The political satire stars Amy Adams, Steve Carrell, Tyler Perry, Lily Rabe and Alison Pill.

Cheney admitted in 2019 that he never got around to seeing the movie himself.

But he did share his then 18-year-old granddaughter’s review of it: “Well it says you’re a real badass and that’s cool,” which he felt was “as good a judgment as any,” per Newsweek.
