Zohran Mamdani casts ballot in NYC mayoral election while stressing the need for more housing
Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani stressed the need for more housing across all five boroughs as he arrived to cast his vote in Queens early Tuesday in his fight to become the Big Apple’s next mayor.
The 34-year-old was flanked by his artist wife, Rama Duwaji, as they arrived at the polling booth at Astoria’s Frank Sinatra High School just after 8 a.m.

Polling locations across all five boroughs opened at 6 a.m. and will and keep collecting ballots until 9 p.m. — bringing an end to a dramatic and whirlwind election cycle.
