‘Black Phone 2’ Comes to Digital, But When Will ‘Black Phone 2’ Be Streaming Free on Peacock?

Just because it’s November doesn’t mean spooky season has to end, and you can keep the party going by watching the Black Phone 2 movie, which is coming to digital platforms to rent and buy tomorrow, just two-and-a-half weeks after opening in theaters.
Director Scott Derrickson, who co-wrote the script with C. Robert Cargill, is back for this sequel, which picks up four years after the events of the first movie, in 1982. Finney (Mason Thames) is still recovering from the trauma of being kidnapped, and nearly murdered by the Grabber (Ethan Hawke), a deranged masked murderer who locked him in a basement with nothing but a disconnected phone. When Finney’s sister Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) starts having terrifying visions of mutilated children and a ringing phone, Finney knows the nightmare is not yet over. Sure, he killed the Grabber in the last movie, but this is a horror movie! The villains always come back.

Black Phone 2 was—and still is—a hit at the box office, earning $104.7 million worldwide so far, and counting. But Universal has been pushing its movies—even the hit ones—to VOD after just two or three weeks in theaters for years now, and Black Phone 2 is no exception. Read on to find out how to watch Black Phone 2 online and when we expect to see Black Phone 2 streaming on Peacock.

Where to watch the Black Phone 2 movie on streaming:
Beginning on Tuesday, November 4 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also November 3 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time) Black Phone 2 will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the film costs $24.99 to buy a digital copy, and $19.99 to rent. If you rent the movie, you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting “play.”
Black Phone 2 will also be released on DVD, 4K UHD, and Blu-ray on December 23, 2025. Both the digital release (when you buy at participating retailers) and DVD release will come with bonus features, including seven deleted scenes, a director’s commentary with Scott Derickson, and behind-the-scenes featurettes.
Black Phone 2 is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but we do expect to see Black Phone 2 streaming on Peacock soon, because it is a Universal movie and Peacock is the streaming service owned by Universal. After that, Black Phone 2 will stream on Amazon Prime, thanks to a deal between Universal and Amazon.
When will Black Phone 2 be streaming on Peacock?
The Black Phone 2 streaming release date on Peacock has not yet been announced, but we know that Black Phone 2 will stream on Peacock eventually because it is a Universal movie, and Peacock is the streaming service owned by Universal. All the new Universal theatrical movies end up streaming on Peacock, though the wait period has varied by title.
Another Universal/Blumhouse release, M3GAN 2.0, began streaming on Peacock about three months after the movie opened in theaters. If Black Phone 2 follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie streaming on Peacock around mid-to-late January 2026.
Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $10.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $16.99/month.
You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads.
Peacock Premium Plus is also available to subscribe to via Prime Video with a seven-day free trial that you can’t get by subscribing directly on Peacock.
When will Black Phone 2 be streaming free on Amazon Prime Video?
You will eventually be able to stream Black Phone 2 on Prime Video, free with a Prime subscription, four months after the movie streams on Peacock. This is thanks to the deal between Universal and Amazon that sends Universal movies to Peacock for the first four months of the “Pay 1 window,” then to Amazon Prime Video for the next months of the window, followed by four more months on Peacock. If our prediction for when Black Phone 2 will be on Peacock is correct, then you should see Black Phone 2 streaming on Prime around June 2026.
This is all speculation. Universal has not had a consistent digital release strategy. The Phoenician Scheme, for example, took two months to stream on Peacock, rather than three. So it varies by title. If you want to watch the Black Phone 2 movie right away, you can buy or rent a digital copy online.
Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
