“I had planned for an unmedicated birth at a birthing center, but after laboring for about 20 hours, some complications arose and I ultimately needed an emergency C-section.”
“It was frightening for a moment, but the second I heard his cry and saw him safe, I was overcome with so much love and joy,” she added. “Every part of the journey was worth it.”
Walerius announced at the “Love Is Blind” Season 9 reunion that she had welcomed a baby boy, named Brooks, with her partner, Paul Wegman.
Walerius, 35, explained that she was introduced to Wegman through a mutual friend three months after she ended things with her fiancé, Jordan Keltner, on the show. She then got “pregnant three months into dating” Wegman.
“We definitely had our ups and downs. I’m not going to say it was perfect, but Paul’s been amazing and we’re — we’re very happy,” she divulged.
Fans began to speculate on the state of Walerius’ life after Page Six published photos of an unidentified man — who was later identified to be Paul — carrying a baby from the reality star’s Denver home on Oct. 19 and 20.
At the time, an eyewitness told The US Sun that the man “seems to be living in Megan’s home” and “has been in and out at all hours of the day.”
In her People interview, the reality TV star recalled feeling “a wave of emotions all at once” when she found out she was pregnant with her first child.
“I was excited and happy, but also surprised and a little scared,” she shared.
“I’d been told by multiple doctors in the past that getting pregnant naturally would likely be very difficult for me because of a congenital condition, so when it happened so quickly, I was a little taken aback.”
The reality TV personality feared that she “might not be ready to be a mom.”
“But I can confidently say that those doubts and fears feel very far away today, and motherhood has easily turned into my favorite and most fulfilling chapter of life thus far,” she added.
While she decided to keep the first few months of her baby’s life private, Walerius reflected on her journey of becoming a mom while also navigating her new life as a public figure, saying she feels a “sense of relief” to be able to share the happy news about starting a family.
“There’s definitely a sense of relief in finally being able to share this part of my life and to just live normally as a family without feeling like we’re hiding,” she told the outlet.
