Kristen Bell refusing to apologize over ‘tone-deaf’ anniversary post to Dax Shepard: report

Kristen Bell is reportedly unwilling to apologize after her controversial 12th wedding anniversary tribute to Dax Shepard.
“She doesn’t want to be told how to live her life or be bullied into doing something she doesn’t want to do,” a source told the Daily Mail on Saturday.

“Many would have liked her to apologize or to have taken down the post, but she hasn’t, and the post is still there.”
The source alleged that Bell, 45, believes that if “people aren’t going to laugh about it,” then it’s their problem.
“She feels that there are bigger issues in the world than what she said,” the insider claimed. “Given the chance to do it all over again, she would.”
Per the outlet, the actress’s friends are allegedly “happy she is getting heat over her comments because she often never sees how her words, whether she thinks she says them in jest or not, can actually hurt people.”
According to the source, Bell’s actions allegedly “rub some people the wrong way.”
Shepard, meanwhile, loyally has the “Frozen” star’s back and is reportedly “in full support on everything she chooses to do from this moment forward.”
“He thought the post was funny,” the insider told the outlet.
Reps for Bell and Shepard weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Earlier this month, the “Veronica Mars” star came under fire for her anniversary post to Shepard, 50, which fans labeled as “unbelievably tone-deaf.”
“Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would.’ ❤️,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and the actor hugging.
At the time, critics expressed their disappointment with Bell’s post, especially since October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Bell attempted to quit the critics by turning off her social media comments.
She also opted out of her “Today” show appearance and avoided talking about the backlash during the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” last week.
