Sarah Ferguson ‘standing by’ Prince Andrew after both lose royal titles
Sarah Ferguson is standing by her former husband, Prince Andrew, after both were stripped of their royal titles and honors in light of renewed scrutiny of the prince’s ties to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Ferguson, 66, “will always stand by Andrew” despite the latest developments, which include the prince’s agreement to relinquish his title as Duke of York and to stop using all royal styles and honors following discussions with King Charles III, friends told Page Six.

Fergie, who divorced Andrew in 1996 but continues to live with him at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, will also lose the courtesy title of Duchess of York.
“Sarah will always stand by Andrew; she will always have love for him,” one pal said.
“Sarah is relaxed … it’s always been a courtesy title.”
Buckingham Palace confirmed Friday that Andrew, 65, had agreed to step back from use of his titles, saying the move was made “in discussion with The King, and [his] immediate and wider family.”
The change follows new revelations from a posthumous memoir by Virginia Giuffre titled “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice,” in which she alleged she was forced by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to have sex with the prince when she was 17.
Andrew has denied the allegations.
In 2022, the prince settled a civil lawsuit brought by Giuffre for a reported $12 million, avoiding a trial. Giuffrem, 41, died by suicide in April.
Ferguson has also faced renewed scrutiny for her own connections to Epstein.
Earlier reports revealed she had written to Epstein in 2011 apologizing for publicly distancing herself from him and acknowledging that she had previously borrowed about $20,000 from him.
Several UK charities, including Julia’s House and the British Heart Foundation, have since ended their association with her.
Despite the loss of titles, Andrew and Ferguson continue to share their home at the Royal Lodge under a long-term lease with the Crown Estate.
Their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, remain unaffected, retaining their titles by birth as granddaughters of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Andrew, who has not carried out official duties since 2019, will not join the royal family for Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, according to Buckingham Palace.
