Aaron Rodgers snaps at teammate over tackle touchdown celebration during loss to Bengals
Aaron Rodgers doesn’t need his own lineman tackling him from behind.
The Steelers’ veteran quarterback did not appreciate being tackled by overzealous offensive lineman Broderick Jones after throwing a go-ahead touchdown pass in the fourth quarter Thursday night.

Rodgers, 41, got up off the ground and shoved Jones and said something to the offensive lineman while clearly looking perturbed during the 33-31 road loss to the Bengals.
The awkward scene unfolded late in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s rivalry game in Cincinnati with the Steelers trailing, 30-24.
Rodgers found Pat Freiermuth for a 68-yard touchdown pass, his fourth of the game and his second to the tight end, that gave Pittsburgh a 31-30 lead with 2:21 remaining.
The quarterback did his patented jump and fist bump while rushing to the Steelers sideline and even extended both arms toward the ground while letting out some excitement.
Little did he know that Jones may have been a little more excited than him.
The lineman ran behind Rodgers and grabbed him around the neck, with the two falling to the ground just like if the quarterback had been sacked by a Bengals defender.
Rodgers hit the ground and rolled away before showing his displeasure with Jones, a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Several retired NFL offensive lineman could not believe what transpired.
“😂😂 It honestly gets funnier the more you watch it,” tweeted David Bakhtiari, a Rodgers confidant.
Added former Giants guard Geoff Schwartz: “The Steelers LT ended up tackling Rodgers after they scored last night. Lmao. wtf is he doing.”
That touchdown pass capped a stellar night for Rodgers, who completed 23 of 34 passes for four touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Bengals rallied for a game-winning field goal with seven seconds remaining to drop Pittsburgh to 4-2 and improve to 3-4.
Rodgers has a revenge game on tap in Week 8 when the Steelers host the Packers on “Sunday Night Football.”
“This is a short week, division opponent, anything can happen,” Rodgers said. “Obviously, Joe (Flacco) played really well for them and (Ja’Marr) Chase and Tee (Higgins) got going for them. This is the NFL. We had a chance to really open up some space but we’re 4-2, still first in division, got a couple home games coming up, back to back, another Sunday night opportunity against my former team.
“I’m not going to ride the rollercoaster and I know (Steelers coach) Mike (Tomlin) isn’t, and hopefully guys follow suit.”
