Kevin Federline claims Britney Spears was ‘high’ in ‘erratic’ knife-wielding videos

Kevin Federline claims Britney Spears’ “erratic” social media posts, which featured her dancing with knives and going on “cryptic rants,” were signs she was “high” after she was freed from her 13-year conservatorship.

“With her newfound freedom, I saw history repeating itself,” Federline, 47, says in a clip of the audiobook version of his upcoming memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” per Us Weekly.

“Her social media posts became more erratic. There were the infamous videos of her dancing with knives, cryptic rants and wild behavior that was impossible to ignore. It didn’t take a rehab counselor to see that she was high in many of those videos.”

Spears previously shocked her fans in 2023 after she shared several clips of herself dancing with what appeared to be butcher knives, prompting the police to perform a wellness check. The singer eventually addressed the issue, telling her followers that the knives were “fake.”

Federline continues in his book, sharing that his ex’s transition from her conservatorship pushed his and Spears’ two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, “to avoid social media” after they started receiving hateful comments from the pop star’s fans.

“They knew what it would bring: endless negativity and blame aimed at them from fans who didn’t understand the full story,” he adds.

“The Free Britney extremists were brutal. The boys understood that it was better to form a relationship with their mom on their own terms.”

“People calling them ‘liars,’ ‘traitors,’ ‘drama queens.’ Spitting out vile crap like: ‘What kind of son doesn’t stand up for his own mother?’ Or: ‘You’ll regret turning your back on your mom when she’s gone…,’” he adds. “And those were some of the tamer comments.”

A rep for Spears did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

The “Toxic” hitmaker previously slammed her ex’s forthcoming memoir, accusing Federline of “sensationalism” after her child support payments to him ended.

“With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again, he and others are profiting off her,” a rep for the Princess of Pop told Page Six in a statement.

“Sadly, it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,” the rep added. “All she cares about are her kids … and their well-being during this sensationalism.”

Spears was married to her second ex-husband, Kevin Federline, from 2004 to 2007. She stopped making child support payments to Federline in November 2024 after their youngest son turned 18.

The former backup dancer moved his sons to Hawaii in 2023 after his wife, Victoria, got a job as a volleyball coach at her alma mater, the University of Hawaii.

At the time, Spears was said to have been estranged from her children due to their concerns for her mental health as well as their issues with her frequent nude social media posts.

However, the “Gimme More” hitmaker, 43, has recently begun repairing her relationship with her boys.

In November 2024, sources exclusively told Page Six that Spears reunited with Jayden, 19, and that they had “been spending a lot of time together.”

At the time, a second source added that Spears was “thrilled to have her baby back.”

A source previously told Us Weekly in September that the family of three had “turned the page when it comes to their relationship” and they were “healing together.”

“The boys are maturing and they want their mom in their lives, and Britney is really happy about that. She’s so grateful to have them in her life. She feels whole again,” the insider added.
