“For me it was and will always be about making great country music, with and for the hardworking people who love it and live it,” he continued. “Thank you for every memory, I’ll see you back in the saddle. I wish Kimberly and TBP the best as they move forward into the future.”

The bassist and vocalist further revealed that he is leaving The Band Perry to focus on managing other artists, including “The Voice” alum Ryan Coleman.

“I’ll be missing seeing you in the crowd at a Band Perry show but I’ll be around, managing a new voice I believe in more than anything, Ryan Coleman,” he shared.

Kimberly, 42, acknowledged her brother’s exit from the band and wished Reid well as he prepares to pursue a new chapter in his musical career.

“Reid! Wishing you the most wonderful successes in your new era!” she commented. “Love you, brother!”

The band’s countless fans, meanwhile, rushed to the comments section to thank the “If I Die Young” bassist for all the music over the years.

“Crying, but you gotta do you!” one person wrote. “Wishing you the best.”

“Thanks for all the unforgettable memories along the years,” added another. “Best of luck in the new project.”

“Thank you for all that you’ve done for tbp,” commented a third. “I love you and wish you all the best in your new journey.”

Reid and Kimberly formed The Band Perry with their brother Neil, 35, before gaining popularity with their hit “If I Die Young” in 2010.

The trio went on to win the Best Country Duo/Group Performance Award for “Gentle on My Mind” at the 2015 Grammys, and were often honored at the ACMs, CMAs and CMT Awards.

After performing from their formation in 2005 to 2023, the group announced a hiatus to pursue different opportunities, including Kimberly’s first-ever solo EP, “Bloom.”

“We wanted to let you know that the three of us have decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits,” the siblings wrote on Instagram, per People.

“During this season we will continue to support each other as artists and family in all we do,” the Ridgeland, Mississippi natives added. “Thank you for making our childhood dreams come true!”

Earlier this year, The Band Perry returned to its roots in country music and reunited with Big Machine Label Group, where their career first began. Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Costello, took over for Neil.

“Coming back home to our Big Machine / Nashville Harbor family feels like a beautiful full-circle moment for us,” Kimberly shared in a statement back in July. “To bring the foundation of everything we’ve built together into a new season of creativity means the world.”

“This reunion feels like a second chance, a deeper chapter,” she concluded, “and we’re just so grateful to be writing it with the family who believed in us first.”
