According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Academy Award winner, 70, came to blows with Wes Bentley, who played his son, Jamie Dutton, on the show.

The outlet claimed Costner encouraged the “American Beauty” alum, 47, to “ditch” the show creator, Taylor Sheridan’s, script and play a certain scene differently.

However, Bentley barked back, stating that he was signed up for a “Taylor Sheridan show, not a Kevin Costner production.”

According to a source who was there, Costner proceeded to “lunge” at Bentley.

The “Yellowstone” stars pushed and shoved one another until they were separated. Kelly Reilly, 48, who played Costner’s wife, Beth Dutton, was allegedly in tears, per a witness’s account.

Production was briefly shut down.

The Post reached out to a rep for “Yellowstone,” Costner and Bentley.

After Costner actor left the show following the death of his character in the Season 5 premiere in November 2024, the series is now set to spinoff on CBS.

The story will follow John’s other son, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes).

Meanwhile, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler’s (Cole Hauser) story will continue on at Paramount+.

It was previously said that Costner departed “Yellowstone” due to issues with Sheridan, 55.

The “Waterworld” alum allegedly wanted to rearrange his time on the western to direct his “Horizon” films.

Meanwhile, Costner broke his silence about ongoing rumors of a feud between him and the showrunner in June 2024.

“I have taken a beating from those f–king guys, and I know a lot of times where it’s coming from. I just elected not to get into that. But if you know me well enough, I made ‘Yellowstone’ the first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong. I did not initiate any of those things. They did,” the Golden Globe winner told Deadline at the time.

There was also speculation that Costner refused to be on set filming for more than one week for the second half of Season 5, which his lawyer vehemently denied.

Sheridan, however, has alluded to Costner wanting to leave “Yellowstone” to make “Horizon.”

In 2024, Costner took to social media to reveal he was stepping away from the project.

“I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on ‘Horizon’ and doing all the things that that’s required,” the star said on Instagram. “Thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love. I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue, season five or into the future.”

Costner added that the hit Paramount series, which ended with Season 5 in December 2024, “was something that really changed me.”

“I loved it and I know you loved it. I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning,” he shared. “I love the relationships that I’ve been able to develop. And I’ll see you at the movies.”
