Nicole Kidman said her life was going in different direction before Keith Urban divorce

The signs were there.

Nicole Kidman alluded to her marital troubles with Keith Urban in a newly published interview with Vogue that was conducted a few weeks before the actress, 58, filed for divorce from the country singer, 57.

In the story, journalist Wendell Steavenson, who interviewed Kidman, 58, in London in Aug., noted that he “guessed as much” that she was separated from Urban at the time, but he “didn’t want to pry.”

“When I asked about how she felt now, in her 50s, I had expected to hear a nice trite response about the sagacity of age,” Steavenson wrote, adding, “Instead Kidman was wry, rueful, unsure of herself.”

Kidman, in response to the reporter’s question, told him: “How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?”

The “Practical Magic” actress also shared that she leans on a close circle of girlfriends for support in Nashville, including “Big Little Lies” co-star Reese Witherspoon.

“Ride-or-die friendships. Oh, yeah,” she said.

When asked how she handles online criticism, Kidman responded: “Literally walk away from it. Because it will fell you. It will destroy you.” 

Kidman filed for divorce from Urban last week after nearly 20 years of marriage.

Insiders claimed that the pair — who share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14 — have been living apart “since the beginning of summer.”

“Sometimes relationships just run their course,” a source told Page Six, adding that the “Babygirl” actress did not want to split and tried saving their relationship.

Another insider told People that Kidman “feels hurt and betrayed” by Urban, who is already rumored to be seeing another woman, although it’s unclear if he moved on before or after leaving Kidman.

In Kidman’s divorce filing obtained by The Post, she is seeking to be the “primary residential parent” for her and Urban’s two daughters and is anticipating that both parties enter into a Marital Dissolution Agreement and an Agreed Permanent Parenting Plan.

As for the parenting plan, it reportedly states that Sunday and Faith will spend 306 days with their mom and 59 days with their dad, per TMZ. All major decisions involving the kids, meanwhile, will be made jointly.

Kidman made her first public appearance after the divorce news at an amfAR auction in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 4, where she presented the Award of Inspiration to “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan.

A few days later, the Emmy winner attended the Chanel runway show during Paris Fashion Week with her daughters.

Urban, for his part, scrapped a Kidman-inspired song and ditched his wedding ring in his first performance after the divorce news.
