Melania Trump channels ‘Top Gun’ in leather bomber for naval station visit

Melania Trump is in her “Top Gun” era.

The first lady channeled Charlotte “Charlie” Blackwood while visiting Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Va., on Sunday as part of a Salute to the Fleet celebration in honor of its 250th anniversary.

The 55-year-old donned a brown leather bomber jacket for this weekend’s event, which she paired with a collared white shirt and dark wash denim jeans.

She completed her look with aviator shades and added a white baseball cap with “USA” embroidered across the front.

The look was reminiscent of Tom Cruise’s beloved “Top Gun” character US Navy aviator Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell’s love interest, played by Kelly McGillis in the franchise.

Melania was joined by President Donald Trump for their visit to the USS George H. W. Bush where they talked to sailors.

The duo were treated to a military demonstration while standing on the deck of the aircraft carrier before POTUS addressed the crowd of an estimated 10,000 people.

In his speech, Trump took aim at democratic lawmakers for the current government shutdown.

“I want you to know that … we will get our service members every last penny. Don’t worry about it,” Trump said, eliciting cheers from the crowd.

Meanwhile, Melania looked ecstatic to speak at the event, waving to attendees and smiling widely.

After greeting sailors with a “hooyah,” which they returned, she said that it was an honor to be at present.

“Generations of sailors have kept America free because of your presence on the high seas,” she gushed in her speech.

“Your strength, bravery and sacrifice inspires us all,” she added.

Last month, Melania flew across the pond to visit Windsor Palace with her husband and wore multiple show-stopping looks on the trip.

In addition to sporting a bright yellow off-the-shoulder Caroline Herrera gown with a lavender belt for dinner with the royals, she and Kate Middleton matched in suede jackets during the visit.
