Jordon Hudson has sideline powwow with ACC commissioner before UNC loss
The University of North Carolina’s disappointing football season continues to be exacerbated by sideline shenanigans.
Bill Belichick’s Tar Heels found themselves on the receiving end of another blowout on Saturday afternoon, this time a 38-10 thrashing from the Clemson Tigers on their home field in front of more than 50,000 fans in Chapel Hill.

Compounding the brutal loss was another controversial sideline appearance from Jordon Hudson, Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend. Ahead of the contest, the former cheerleader was seen engaging in a discussion with Jim Phillips, the commissioner of the ACC.
Hudson has drawn heavy criticism this year for her overbearing presence at her 73-year-old boyfriend’s football games. She made headlines last month after delivering a pep talk to Belichick on the sidelines.
It’s unclear what she discussed with Phillips, but her ability to chat with the ACC commissioner speaks volumes of her influence on the program.
Belichick’s first season in college football has been draped in controversy since the moment he arrived in Chapel Hill.
The squad is 2-3 with all of their losses coming by 25+ points, punctuated by their miserable loss Saturday in which fans fled the seats by halftime.
A September lawsuit alleged that the UNC board hired Belichick illegally, also accusing the public institution of hiding discussions about proposed conference realignment.
But his relationship with Hudson remains the headlining conflict, one that’s continued to escalate since she promptly shut down a question about how they met back in April.
The issue has boiled to a point that one of his former Patriots’ players, linebacker Ted Johnson, questioned if he’s fit to continue coaching.
“To me, those are bad decisions that makes him and the university look really bad and question whether or not he is of sound mind and should be running a football team at the University of North Carolina,” said Johnson, who played five seasons under Belichick in New England.
The Tar Heels will look to get their first ACC win on the road, taking on the California Golden Bears at California Memorial Stadium on Oct. 17.
