Bill Maher rips Kamala Harris for playing victim over campaign loss in her new book ‘107 Days’

Bill Maher ripped former Vice President Kamala Harris for blaming everyone else in her new book for her own shortcomings and failed presidential campaign.

“The Real Time with Bill Maher” host accused Harris of playing victim over naming her first-person memoir, which tackled her abbreviated White House campaign, “107 Days,” where she notably targeted former President Biden and running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

“It should’ve been called ‘Everyone Sucks But Me,’”Maher quipped during the show, which aired on Friday night.

“She only had 107 days to win. Yeah, and a billion and a half dollars, and a built-in army of about 75 million people who’d vote for any human-adjacent life form that wasn’t Trump,” Maher reminded his audience.

Bill Maher reveals a new title to Kamala Harris’ book “107 Days,” as “Everyone Sucks But Me,” during “Real Time with Bill Maher” on Oct. 3, 2025.

Harris’ campaign had a war chest of $1.5 billion, beginning her run after then-President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race in July 2024.

She had received endorsements from A-list celebrities and the backing of several former presidents.

Harris lost both the Electoral College and the Popular vote to President Donald Trump, while accumulating approximately $20 million of debt.

“In ‘107 Days,’ nothing is Kamala’s fault,” Maher said. “Biden lets her down by not stepping down sooner, pouty face emoji.”

“The Real Time with Bill Maher” host quipped Harris’ book “107 Days” is a “victim title” as she played the victim card after not taking responsibility in the abbreviated candidacy.

In her book, Harris claimed she reached out to California Gov. Gavin Newsom to get his backing among a handful of other Democrats.

The presidential hopeful contacted the blue state leader using an unknown number, but Newsom said he was “hiking” and never returned the phone call, according to the memoir.

“He was asked for his endorsement but texted back, ‘Hiking, will call back,’ but then never did,” Maher said. “And then he didn’t even ask her to prom.”

Harris also revealed that Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was her first choice as her running mate instead of Walz, but said that the country wasn’t ready for both a black, female president and a gay vice president.

Buttigieg “would have been an ideal partner — if I were a straight white man,” Harris wrote.

“America itself lets Kamala down by not being ‘ready’ for the running mate she really wanted, Pete Buttigieg, so she’s stuck with the Home Depot paint salesman,” Maher said, referring to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. “And the rest is HERstory.

“Poor Kamala. We made her the star of a rom-com and didn’t even give her a gay best friend.”

In the memoir, Harris recalled platters of cupcakes decorated with the words “Madame President” for the election watch party, but the ill-fated decorations were removed by an aide before they were handed out to the losing campaign staffers.

“Oh, jeez, it’s like a scene from ‘Bridget Jones Runs for President,” Maher said.

The host chided his own talk show television colleagues at “The View” for being quiet about Jimmy Kimmel’s three-day suspension from the air after his comments following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

“It wasn’t a good look for the women party that all the guys were speaking out for Jimmy Kimmel when Trump went after him, except on the women’s show, where for five days the outspoken hosts were suddenly as quiet as a geisha,” Maher said.

“Then on the fifth day they rose and said, ‘No one silences us.’ No one had to; you silenced yourself,” he added. “Five days? Talk about needing extra time to get ready.”
