Sports world stunned after Mark Sanchez stabbed



The football world flooded social media with words of support for Mark Sanchez on Saturday. 

The former Jets quarterback was stabbed early Saturday morning in downtown Indianapolis and is in stable condition after being hospitalized, TMZ Sports reported.

“Sending our thoughts and love to Mark Sanchez and his family. Hoping for a speedy recovery, 6,” the Jets wrote on X.

Sanchez was in town to call the Colts’ game against the Raiders for Fox on Sunday.

“Man… this is heartbreaking and scary to read. GODSPEED on your recovery,” Pat McAfee, who played for the Colts and now hosts a show on ESPN, wrote on X.

“Send thoughts and prayers please to Mark and his family!” fellow USC quarterback wrote on X.

“Damn man… Prayers up for my guy and USC brother Mark Sanchez. This is ridiculous!,” Sanchez’s former Fox colleague and ex-star USC wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson wrote on X

Several personalities at ESPN, where Sanchez started his broadcasting career, also reached out with caring words.

“Praying for Mark,” ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky wrote on X. “One of the nicest people you can come across.”

“Asking all of you for your prayers,” “SportsCenter” host Kevin Negandhi wrote on the platform. “Mark Sanchez is one of the kindest people you will meet. He’s family to many who know him.”

The incident occurred at around 12:30 a.m. in downtown Indianapolis near Lucas Oil Stadium, according to TMZ, which first reported the stabbing.

“Mark Sanchez was injured in Indianapolis on Saturday and is currently recovering in the hospital in stable condition,” Fox Sports said in a statement.

“We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”
