Squatter shoots roommate to death in argument over $250 in rent: report

A squatter allegedly shot and killed his roommate after he was asked to pay just $250 in rent — shouting “I’m going to kill them all,” as he marched towards the house, according to law enforcement officials.

Angel Gomez Montanez, 21, paid no rent at a home outside of Houston, Texas, for over three months when his roommate Christopher Rodriguez Lara, 18, asked the delinquent to pony-up the paltry sum, KTRK reported.

The two got into an argument and then Montanez left the shared home with his belongings — only to return on June 12, saying he had the $250 for rent.

Montanez insisted on handing the dough directly to the 18-year-old — and when Lara stepped outside, Montanez allegedly shot him on the spot and fled.

A 9-year-old witness armed with a rock chased Montanez away, but hid when the crazed alleged gunman started walking back towards the home, the Charlotte Observer reported.

“I’m going to kill all of them,” Montanez said, the 9-year-old told investigators, according to that report.

Montanez allegedly fired one more shot that investigators believe was aimed at Lara’s brother.

“The only thing we told him is we needed the money for rent,” Zulekya Ortiz, who said Montanez had been living in her family home for the three months span, told the outlet.

“He was the happiness in this home,” Ortiz said of Lara, her brother-in-law. “My children loved him.”

Montanez was arrested on June 15 and is being charged with murder, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
