The inside story on Sydney Sweeney dating Scooter Braun
Love seems to be in the stars for Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun.
Last weekend, Sweeney celebrated her 28th birthday with a space-themed bash in Los Angeles. The event was attended by a bevy of bold-facers — among them Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez and Glen Powell — and rumored new beau Braun, 44.

“He really, really likes her,” a source close to the two told Page Six, adding that they’ve “never” heard Braun sound like he likes someone like this.
Clad in a silver mini dress adorned with metallic stars — a replica of Britney Spears’ iconic dress from her “Circus” album cover in 2008 — Sweeney was the belle of her birthday ball as she mingled with friends dressed as astronauts, aliens, and “Star Wars” characters.
Braun looked the part in a Jedi knight getup, though a party goer noted he and Sweeney weren’t acting like a couple at the soirée.
“It was a huge party and there were so many people there,” said the guest, who’s worked with Sweeney. “She’s very private.”
The bash was one of a string of recent high-profile outings for Sweeney and Braun, who first met at the Bezos-Sanchez wedding in Venice this past June.
The lavish nuptials were full of A-Listers and the actress was seen dancing with Tom Brady and strolling with Orlando Bloom.
But, according to an industry source, she pursued Braun, in the Floating City. He initially worried she was too young for him but ultimately couldn’t resist her ample charms. A source previously told Page Six that the music mogul was soon “obsessed” with the “Euphoria” star.
“I can tell you that it’s very real and he’s very happy,” another source, who knows Braun, said.
Since then, things seem to be heating up. The two reportedly spent Labor Day weekend together in scenic Lake Tahoe, and Braun has even met her parents.
Last week, the new couple held hands while on a double date with Sweeney’s folks at a Los Angeles Halloween event.
They’ve also recently been spotted on a handful of low-key dates in LA, including visiting an art gallery and getting dinner with friends at Italian restaurant Jon & Vinny’s.
“It’s not a casual relationship. It’s game on, it’s full throttle,” a source told Page Six. “They are together.”
The person who knows Braun added that it doesn’t appear to just be a casual fling, saying “I think anybody that goes public isn’t kidding around, right?”
The budding romance comes after Sweeney ended her engagement to businessman Jonathan Davino, 43, this past spring, reportedly due to “major issues” in their nearly seven-year relationship.
It was “an incredibly toxic” situation, said the source close to Sweeney and Braun.
As her star rose, the actress initially tried to keep her private life — and her relationship with Davino — private.
“I don’t date people in the spotlight. I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest,” she said in a 2022 interview with Cosmopolitan.
But speculation about her love life exploded after she started filming rom-com “Anyone But You” with costar Glen Powell in 2023.
Flirty photos and videos of Sweeney and Powell on set and during the promo tour sparked rumors of an affair, especially after Powell and his girlfriend broke up during filming. Both actors later denied any romantic involvement. Powell said their flirty behavior was marketing for the movie.
In an interview with Glamour UK later that year, Sweeney said, “Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me.”
Meanwhile, Braun was married to mining heiress Yael Cohen, 38, for seven years.
The source close to Sweeney and Braun also alleged that marriage wasn’t a healthy one.
“It wasn’t a good relationship,” they said.
The two, who have three kids, finalized their divorce in 2022.
According to Braun, they remain close. In a July podcast interview, he called Cohen “one of my best friends” and said they talk every day.
“We don’t even call each other ‘ex.’ That’s like my partner,” he said. “That’s the mother of my children.” He added that they are “on the same team for life.”
This is the first significant relationship for Braun since the split.
“I’ve never heard him sound so happy,” said the source close to the couple, adding that they’re not sure if Sweeney has met Braun’s kids. “It’s not like this is the first person he’s dated, but it’s the first person he’s gone public with.”
The two have the makings of a power couple.
Sweeney, who shot to fame on HBO’s “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus,” is at a pivotal moment in her career. After starring in the romantic-comedy “Anyone But You” and Marvel flop “Madame Web,” she’s currently promoting her upcoming “Christy,” a biopic about boxing legend Christy Martin.
It hits theaters Nov. 7, and there’s talk of a major awards push for Sweeney, who gained 30 pounds of muscle to play Martin.
Braun, a billionaire who once managed Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, announced last summer that he was retiring from music management after 23 years.
Sources say that his being so established puts the new relationship on solid ground.
“There’s nothing that he can gain off her. You know, he doesn’t need the money, he doesn’t need the deals, he doesn’t need the connections,” said the person close to the couple. “He’s not a user.”
There’s chatter that Braun could help Sweeney as she navigates a pivotal time in her career. Whatever his next endeavor is, it’s likely to be a successful one.
“He knows how to do deals,” the source close to the new couple said. “Everything that Scooter does always turns to gold.”
The source added that while he and Sweeney might seem like an unlikely match, they make sense.
“It’s kind of random, for sure,” they said. “[But] sometimes those pairings work.”
Page Six has reached out to Sweeney and Braun for comment.
