The English rock band, known for hits like “Wonderwall” and “Stop Crying Your Heart Out,” has been on a world tour since the start of July 2025.
It was the first time the two-time Grammy-nominated band — which features brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell — had reunited since 2009.
The “Don’t Look Back in Anger” group is scheduled to have eight shows across Asia and Australia from Oct 21 through Nov. 8.
“Now I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I’ll be missing gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney.”
“I’m really sad to be missing these shows, but I’m feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America.”
The South American portion of the tour kicks off on Nov. 15 with a two-show run in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before the bands its 41-show slate in Chile and Brazil.
“Have an amazing time if you’re going this month and I’ll see you back onstage with the band in November,” Arthurs added.
Arthurs, who is an original member of the band that formed in 1991, signed off on the statement with his nickname, “Bonehead. X.”
The “Champagne Supernova” hitmakers shared their bandmate’s statement on their Instagram page, sending him well wishes.
“Wishing you all the best with your treatment,” the band wrote. “We’ll see you back on stage in South America.”
A replacement guitarist has not been officially announced, but Archer, who joined the group after Arthurs left in 1999, has been on tour with the band.
The “Live ‘25 Tour” is expected to bring in at least $200 million due to deals with Live Nation and Adidas, according to industry experts.
The band broke up right after a backstage fight broke out between Liam and Noel Gallagher ahead of the Rock en Seine festival in France in 2009.
“We were backstage waiting to go onstage to 30,000 people in Paris,” Noel told NPR in 2012. “The tour manager came in and said, ‘Five minutes!’ We broke up within that five minutes. I’m not proud of that, but all things come to an end.”
