“‘Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar’ delivers an intimate look inside the life of one of the most iconic women of the twentieth century, peeling back the glamour to uncover the force of nature behind the fame,” a press release read.
“Each episode explores how Taylor shattered Hollywood’s glass ceiling, built a billion-dollar business empire, and transformed celebrity activism through her pioneering work in the fight against HIV/AIDS,” the release continued.
The docuseries will include interviews with Kardashian, 44, who spoke with Taylor for Harper’s Bazaar magazine months before her death in March 2011 at the age of 79.
The “Kardashians” star gushed over the “Cleopatra” actress in a 2024 interview with the BBC, saying, “I was always drawn to Elizabeth Taylor.
“We were actually supposed to meet up for tea at her house, and then she fell ill,” Kardashian explained, stating that they bonded over “fighting for people.”
“She understood her power and her beauty,” Kardashian added.
Meanwhile, Swift has a track titled “Elizabeth Taylor” on her “The Life of a Showgirl” album, which was also released on Friday.
In the track, the Grammy winner mentions Portofino, Italy, where Taylor’s ex-husband Richard Burtan proposed in 1964.
She also referenced the actress’ eyes, singing, “I’d cry my eyes violet.”
Swift and Kardashian’s rift dates back to 2016 when the latter’s ex-husband Kanye West name-dropped the singer in his track “Famous,” where he sings that he “might still have sex” with her.
After Swift slammed the lyrics, Kardashian claimed West had gotten permission from the singer to use her name in the song. When Swift denied the allegations, Kardashian released an “edited and manipulated” phone call conversation between her and West, in which Swift allegedly approved of the lyrics.
In the end, it was discovered that Swift had given permission to use her name in the song, but was unaware of what the lyrics would be and that a naked version of her would be featured in the music video.
In her December 2023 cover story with Time, Swift shared that the feud “took [her] down psychologically to a place [she’s] never been before.”
The “Love Story” singer was also said to address her feud with Kardashian on her “The Tortured Poets Department” track “thanK you aIMee,” which talks about a “bronze, spray-tanned” female.
