Taylor Swift wears an orange sequined Gucci gown to promote “Life of a Showgirl”

Taylor Swift has confirmed that orange is the color of her “Life of a Showgirl” era.

Queen of Easter eggs, Swift seems to have dropped not one, but two secrets inside her latest batch of jaw-dropping “Life of a Showgirl” promotional photos.

In the image, the singer looks back as she briskly exits a hotel room, holding up the skirt of her orange sequin gown.

The gown, custom-designed by Gucci, features sheer panels, spaghetti straps, and matching opera-length gloves.

In a second image, you can see the quintessential Gucci horsebit detail on the strap as well as the deep V neckline. The slight ombré coloring on both the liquid gown and coordinating gloves adds dimension and intrigue.

Swift famously chooses a signature color to represent each of her musical eras.

“Speak Now” was purple, “Lover” was pink, and “Red” was, of course, its namesake hue.

Swift, who spent more than a year and a half on her most recent “Eras” tour, integrated 12 orange outfits into the lineup over the duration. It was those outfits and those outfits only that her team shared on Instagram just hours before “The Life of a Showgirl” album was announced.

Her new website and album vinyls also feature the fruity hue.  So, orange it is!

As for Gucci …

It was speculated that her chosen Gucci looks over the past year have been subtle hints themselves.

She’s been wearing the Italian design house’s looks for both major red carpet events (think: her custom Green sequin gown at the 2024 Golden Globes) as well as date nights (from logo shift dresses to structured bustiers).

When the lyrics to the Grammy winner’s song, “Cancelled!,” were leaked online, the line “Good thing I like my friends cancelled / I like ‘em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal” seemed to bring the singer’s trail of Gucci breadcrumbs to an exciting head.

This epic orange sequin look, paired with a Gucci mini skirt she wore on this morning’s radio appearance on “Hits Radio Breakfast,” makes it official: we’ve reached peak showgirl status.

But, knowing Swift, there’s an avalanche of shimmery orange era looks still to come.
