It’s finally safe to say Doja Cat‘s retirement is officially over.
For context, the 29-year-old Hip-Hop provocateur announced she was “quitting music after fulfilling a commitment to The Weeknd‘s ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’” in April 2022.

As you may have noticed though, that just hasn’t stuck. Over the past three years, she’s released multiple albums, embarked on a 2023-24 international tour, headlined NYC’s Global Citizen Festival and will serve as the musical guest on the season 51 premiere of “Saturday Night Live.”
And, come 2026, she’ll do it all over again.
The Grammy winner just announced her ‘Tour Ma Vie World Tour’ — which stretches from May through December — in support of her recently-released fifth studio album “Vie.”
To close the run, she’ll take the stage at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
“See you soon,” the “Kiss Me More” singer shared via Instagram.
Following the release of “Vie,” critics have responded in kind, sharing positive reviews for the synth-heavy effort.
“…she appears to have found some sort of creative equilibrium,” Variety noted in a review. NME added “zappy synths, slapping bass and playful vocals make Doja’s latest album a groove-a-thon that refuses to quit” in a four-star rave.
Prior to the tour announcement and album hitting shelves, the Los Angeles native put on Apple Music’s first “livestreamed album release party.” To celebrate the occasion, their studio was made-over into a 1980s-themed club and Doja Cat sang along to tracks as they played. She also allegedly said “don’t worry about what people say about you on the internet.”
Can’t wait to see her live in ’26?

Doja Cat new music
On Sept. 22, Doja Cat released her fifth studio album “Vie.”
The party-starting record is a cosmic ’80s throwback with nods to drum machines, the “Knight Rider” theme song (see “AAAHH MEN!” which expertly samples the classic TV staple) and rainy night sax solos among other flourishes that harken back to the nascent days of mainstream Hip-Hop.
Following the transfixing “Cards” — which grabs you by the collar with its seductive horns — Cat busts out the free-flowing breakout “Jealous Type,” video game soundtrack-ready “AAHH MEN!” and bouncy, sing-song-y “Couples Therapy.”
If you hang on though, you’ll find hidden gems later in the track listing. The pop confection “Stranger,” yearning, high-pitched, R&B ballad “All Mine” and SZA duet “Take Me Dancing” are all worthy of repeat play as is the appropriately-titled “Silly! Fun!” which lives up to its name.
“Vie” ends with the urgent yet classy “Come Back” that will likely have crowds singing along at arenas come next May. We’re already counting down the days.
Want to hear for yourself? You can find “Vie” here.
