A video of the 33-year-old’s show began circulating via X on Saturday, the same day Gomez, 33, married Benny Blanco.
Many social media users poked fun at one line in the 2016 hit about not wanting to know what “dress [you’re] wearing tonight.”
One quipped, “On her wedding day?”
Another asked, “He doesn’t have other songs he can perform??”
A third claimed that “all the exes are spiraling” over Gomez’s Santa Barbara, Calif., wedding over the weekend.
While the date of Puth’s performance was not specified, he had shows at the Manhattan venue between Thursday and Sunday.
News of Gomez’s wedding, notably, broke many days ahead of the bride and Blanco, 37, walking down the aisle.
Puth’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The songwriter, who married Brooke Sansone last year, confirmed his romantic connection to Gomez in a 2018 interview with Billboard.
At the time, he called their bond “very short-lived, very small, but very impactful.”
He noted, “I don’t kiss and tell, but the only way a song like that can come across as real is if there’s something else going on behind the scenes.”
Puth hinted that his fling with the “Only Murders in the Building” star was during a break from her on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber as he claimed, “I wasn’t … the only person on her mind.”
Gomez and the “Baby” singer broke up for good in 2018, and Justin wed Hailey Bieber later that year.
The pop star, 31, was trolled by Gomez’s fans on Saturday for posting pictures set to his “I Do” song as the “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum tied the knot.
“you lost her, get over her,” one Instagram user commented.
Justin’s mom, Patti Mallette, also made headlines last week for requesting prayers for “strength” and “healing” for her son amid “fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain.”
Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
