Bartolo was jailed alone at the time, and emergency protocols were “immediately followed,” police said.

No foul play has been suspected, and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has been called in to review the incident, cops added.

Bartolo’s death came two days after he was arrested and hit with a slew of charges, including DUI, failure to obey traffic control devices, and a seatbelt violation, the Magee Police Department previously shared on Facebook.

He was also allegedly behind the wheel without a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance, police said.

In a previous incident on Aug. 22, Bartolo allegedly arrived intoxicated at the Magee Police Station to post bond for a pal arrested on DUI charges the night before, according to the department.

Bartolo was then arrested for public intoxication, cops previously said.

The announcement of Bartolo’s death was met with condolences and also concern over his possible medical condition after being detained.

“I know Felix as a regular where I work, just a sweet soul!! Sending condolences to the family,” one user wrote under the department’s post.

“Could it not be dangerous and even negligent to lock an alcoholic in a cell alone?” another user wrote, citing concerns over alcohol withdrawals.

A representative from the Magee Police Department was not available for comment by the time of publication.
