Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. exits after getting drilled by pitch
Jazz Chisholm Jr. has been a key reason the Yankees have made a late charge at the Blue Jays in the American League East, and they got a scare on Saturday in The Bronx, when the second baseman left the game after being hit by a pitch in the left forearm in the bottom of the fifth.
The 96 mph sinker from Baltimore’s Grant Wolfram barreled in on Chisholm’s left arm, and he retreated to the dugout immediately after being hit.

After being examined by trainers, still in the dugout, Chisholm was removed from the game, as Jose Caballero entered as a pinch-runner.
It was the second time in Saturday’s game that Chisholm was banged up.
He fell hard on his back and left shoulder after leaping to try to catch a high throw from left fielder Cody Bellinger in the top of the fourth.
With Gunnar Henderson on second, Chisholm leaped and then fell on a diving Henderson and stayed on the ground before remaining in the game.
Chisholm, in his first full season with the Yankees, became just the third player in franchise history to have a 30-30 season, with 30 homers and 30 stolen bases.
With the regular season ending Sunday and the Yankees having already secured a postseason berth, they will cross their fingers that Chisholm’s injury isn’t too serious.
