22-year-old childcare worker in prison for pinching, kicking 21 kids
A 22-year-old childcare worker has been jailed for eight years after she’d been discovered of kicking, punching and pinching 21 babies.
Roksana Lecka worked across two nurseries in London where she would vape over children’s cots, pinched, scratched and pushed children — forcing them to cry and flinch in her presence.

She kicked one little boy in the face repeatedly, according to The Guardian.
Her crimes were discovered in June 2024 when she was sent home from work after pinching several children. Parents had been reporting weird injuries on their children in March and May of that year.
Police went through CCTV and discovered footage of Lecka attacking children, who were aged between 18 months and two years old. In some cases, she would pinch the children under their clothes several times a day.
She even was seen covering one toddler’s mouth when he started to cry. All but one of the charges took place at Riverside nursery in Twickenham. Upon her arrest, Lecka said she regularly smoked cannabis before her shift and was “addicted” to her boyfriend.
Lecka initially denied the allegations before pleading guilty to seven counts of cruelty to a person under the age of 16.
She was convicted of a further 14 charges.
“I was not lying because I was unaware of what I was doing and the things I was doing, I can’t remember the things I was doing because I was smoking cannabis that was affecting my memory,” Lecka said in court.
Judge Sarah Plaschkes KC called Lecka’s actions against the children “gratuitous violence”.
“You pinched, slapped, punched, smacked and kicked them. You pulled their ears, hair and their toes. You toppled children head first into cots. You caused bruising and lingering red marks,” Judge Plaschkes said, according to the BBC.
“When you committed these acts of cruelty you would look at the other members of staff to make sure that they were not watching you.
“Often the child would be quietly and happily minding their own business before you deliberately inflicted pain causing the child to cry, arch, try to get away or writhe around in distress.”
Several parents took to the stand to express their guilt at leaving their children in Lecka’s care, and scrutinising the woman’s horrifying actions.
“They were totally helpless and Roksana preyed upon them,” one parent said.
Another called Lecka the “worst kind of human”.
Jemma Till, the Irwin Mitchell lawyer representing the families involved, said Lecka “abused her position of trust”, according to Sky News.
Till also said there were also questions as to how Lecka’s abuse went unnoticed and unchecked for months.
