Corey Feldman wasn’t lazy on ‘DWTS,’ was distracted by Charlie Sheen headlines
Corey Feldman is feeling off-beat after his “Dancing With the Stars” exit.
Sources close to the ’80s star say the accusations that he was lazy in rehearsals were unfair. If anything, they say, he was thrown by headlines about his horrific feud with Charlie Sheen that emerged during his time on the show.

Insiders tell us the “Stand By Me” star is “pretty defeated” after being booted after just the second episode — but they tell us it isn’t his short run that has him down.
“The most upsetting thing is the narrative that he didn’t show up and that he and his partner Jenna [Johnson] didn’t get along,” a source close to the “Goonies” actor tells us. “Corey showed up every day and worked his ass off.”
Former “DWTS” pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy — who is also Johnson’s brother-in-law — recently criticized Feldman.
“Jenna has a bit of an uphill climb with Corey, which is easy for everybody to say from [outside], but I know that she’s having a much more difficult time with this entire thing,” he told the Daily Mail.
When asked whether he thought the actor’s age, 54, was a factor, Chmerkovskiy replied, “I think that it’s a combination [of technique and work ethic]. Maybe [learning choreography is] not such a comfort zone for him.”
Meanwhile, another source told the outlet, “[Producers] chose a few stars — and I use that term loosely — who just don’t want to put in the work. Some just don’t seem as committed as others have in the past. . . Yes, Corey is one of them. It takes work to win ‘Dancing With the Stars’ — rehearsals, practice, really immersing yourself — and a few people don’t seem to want to do that.”
But our source insists there is no ill will between Feldman and Johnson.
“He developed a great friendship with Jenna!” says the insider. “He looks forward to meeting her son and staying in touch.”
We’re told that Feldman — who is known for busting out Michael Jackson-inspired moves — was off his game because he was distracted by news surrounding Charlie Sheen, who has a new documentary out.
Feldman had previously alleged that Sheen raped his best friend, the late actor Corey Haim.
Sheen denied the allegations in his new Netflix doc “aka Charlie Sheen,” saying “It’s absolute f*cking bullsh*t. I should have taken legal action against Feldman but I didn’t feel like giving that clown that much more content.”
But we hear Feldman put aside his grievances for the show.
“Corey attended a People magazine party with his ‘DWTS’ cast mates while having to sit with the fact that Charlie Sheen was currently on the cover of the magazine,” said a source.
But we hear that behind the scenes of the show, “Corey saw support from his fellow castmates like Alix Earle and Elaine Hendrix so that validated that the bonds he made were very real.”
