In his first interview about the incident that destroyed his relationship and threatened to estrange him from his two young children, Michael Lichaa declared: “I don’t have any hate for him” after revealing he had forgiven his former Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs teammate Adam Elliott.

Lichaa’s world imploded in 2021 when he discovered his then fiancee, Kara Childerhouse, performing a sex act on Elliott — now a Newcastle Knights player — following a boozy night out that ended at Lichaa’s southern Sydney home.

“It’s not something you want to go through and certainly not something you want to relive,” Lichaa told news.com.au.

“But honestly, even though it sounds a bit weird, I’ve blanked it all out. I haven’t thought about it in a long time and I have well and truly moved on.”

The incident became one of the NRL’s biggest sex scandals, with the former teammates making headline news after Lichaa was arrested on the morning of the confrontation.

While Elliott continued his career after issuing a public apology, Lichaa spent the next year in court fighting police charges.

He was ultimately cleared of all charges, which included common assault, destroying or damaging property, and stalking/intimidation to cause fear of physical harm. No one else was charged over the incident.

While many would never forgive, Lichaa revealed he had accepted an apology from Elliott.

“I don’t have any hate for Adam,” Lichaa said.
