Yankees’ Opening Day 2026 game will be a Netflix exclusive

Yankees fans wanting to watch the team’s Opening Day game next season will need a Netflix subscription.

The streamer will have the exclusive rights to the Yankees-Giants game in San Francisco on March 25, which will be a standalone primetime game to begin the 2026 MLB season, The Athletic reported Thursday.

This is the latest in a string of moves by MLB that is adding to the cost for fans to be able to watch all of their team’s games.

Beyond the YES Network, Fox, ESPN and TBS, 21 Yankees games this season have been streamed on Amazon Prime Video. The Yankees have also been a part of Apple’s exclusive Friday slate this season and a Sunday game streaming on Roku.

They’ll likely have at least one game that’s exclusive to Peacock next season as part of MLB’s new rights deal with NBC.

Netflix and MLB have a three-year deal starting in 2026 that will give them the rights to the Home Run Derby, which has long been broadcast on ESPN, along with some special event regular-season games, per The Athletic.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
