“As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu,” the rest of the synopsis reads.
Jonny Coyne will also reprise his role as the Imperial Warlord, which he played in a Season 3 episode of The Mandalorian. Meanwhile, those new to a galaxy far, far away include Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White. The InSneider first reported of The Bear star’s casting in December 2024. White voices Rotta the Hutt, the son of Jabba the Hutt.
The film is directed by Jon Favreau, who was behind Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew. 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was the last original film of the franchise to hit theaters.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres in theaters on May 22, 2026.
