‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Trailer: See Sigourney Weaver and Rotta the Hutt in First Look at Next ‘Star Wars’ Installment

At long last, Star Wars is heading back to theaters with a brand new, star-studded film. But, before the movie blasts into theaters next spring, you can check out the new trailer above.

In The Mandalorian and Grogu—which sees the return of Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, who he last portrayed in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian—”the evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy.”

“As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu,” the rest of the synopsis reads.

Jonny Coyne will also reprise his role as the Imperial Warlord, which he played in a Season 3 episode of The Mandalorian. Meanwhile, those new to a galaxy far, far away include Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White. The InSneider first reported of The Bear star’s casting in December 2024. White voices Rotta the Hutt, the son of Jabba the Hutt.

The film is directed by Jon Favreau, who was behind Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew. 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was the last original film of the franchise to hit theaters.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres in theaters on May 22, 2026.
