Jets’ late comeback a tangible sign of progress under Aaron Glenn

TAMPA, Fla. — Todd Bowles emerged from the winning locker room with a big smile on his face.

Bowles’ current team had just beaten his former team 29-27 on a last-second field goal that capped off a wild fourth quarter at Raymond James Stadium. Now, the Buccaneers coach saw a familiar face from New York and threw some praise at the Jets, who rallied from 17 points down to take the lead with less than two minutes to play.

“They’re going to be all right,” Bowles told The Post. “They have talent, and he’s going to get them to play the way he wants. You saw that today.”

The “he” Bowles was referring to was Aaron Glenn, the man who currently occupies the job that Bowles held for four years. Bowles knows Glenn well. He coached him twice — once with the Jets when Bowles was a defensive backs coach under Al Groh and at the end of Glenn’s playing career with the Cowboys.
