Bronx slay suspect’s scooter story falls apart

A Bronx man’s claim that his wife was fatally stabbed on City Island by two men on a moped fell apart when cops checked surveillance video along their route — and couldn’t find the mysterious motorbike, The Post has learned.

Franklin Batallas, who alleged the moped duo climbed into the car and stabbed his wife when he got out to relieve himself Wednesday, was arraigned on charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon Saturday in Manhattan Criminal Court, according to court documents.

A review of Department of Transportation footage showed the couple’s vehicle traveling to Seafood City around 6:15 p.m., “however there is no sign of the moped,” the sources said.

Batallas, 44, showed up at New Rochelle Montefiore Hospital with his 30-year-old wife suffering from “extensive stab wounds to her face,” the sources said. She was declared dead a short time later. Batallas also suffered small cuts to both arms and was treated and released, the sources said.

When he was interviewed by detectives, the husband said the motorbike duo was wearing “dark colored hoodies” and “riding a moped that had been following them for some time,” the sources said.

Batallas allegedly told cops one of the bikers got into the vehicle and began stabbing his wife in the face while he was outside, the sources said.
