Kanye West Doc ‘In Whose Name?’ Shows Kris Jenner Blowup, SNL Clash, and MAGA Hat Backlash
Kanye West’s new third-person documentary, In Whose Name?, is officially in theaters today — and it’s pulling back the curtain on some of the most volatile chapters of his life.
In one particularly fiery scene obtained by TMZ, cameras capture West going off on his former mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, during a heated argument over his public image following his 2016 hospitalization.

In the clip, West insists he “would rather be dead” than take medication.
When Kris attempted to reassure him that the internet’s opinions didn’t matter, West erupted, repeatedly screaming, “It does matter!” directly in her face.
The documentary, which covers West’s life from 2018 to 2024, also dives into his infamous 2018 Saturday Night Live appearance, where he wore a red “Make America Great Again” hat and later claimed he was “bullied” for it.
Backstage, SNL star Michael Che confronted him, telling the rapper he was “foul” for throwing the cast under the bus, especially since Che once viewed The College Dropout as “a superhero for the Black community.” The tense exchange nearly escalated before West’s longtime collaborator Consequence stepped in.
Directed by Nico Ballesteros, the film documents everything from West’s intimate 2021 visit to his Chicago childhood home to the rollout of his album Donda, along with his string of antisemitic rants and controversies.
In short, it’s an unfiltered look at Ye’s whirlwind in recent years — now playing in theaters.
