Josh Reynolds was shot at last year in case of mistaken identity
Jets receiver Josh Reynolds, the victim of a shooting last year, appears to have been mistaken for someone else as new details emerge in the 2024 case.
According to a report from the Denver Post, a group of individuals in October shot Reynolds — who was a member of the Broncos at the time — because he resembled someone who had scammed the attackers out of $250,000 worth of cocaine.

Seven adults involved in the shooting have now been arrested on attempted murder charges, along with a juvenile also being charged.
An eighth adult remains at large, according to court filings obtained by the Denver Post.
Burr Charlesworth, one of the adults charged, pleaded guilty for felony assault and was given a 10-year prison sentence on Thursday.
Charlesworth reportedly told authorities that the plan was to find the scammers and “f–k them up.”

It has yet to be revealed what was the source behind the confusion, which ended with Reynolds getting shot twice, once in the back of his head and his left leg.
Additionally, one of Reynolds’ friends was shot in the back while another was struck with shattered glass.
During the incident, four vehicles followed Reynolds from the strip club and fired dozens of rounds at him in what prosecutors allege was a “calculated and carefully coordinated assassination attempt.”

Reynolds, 30, signed a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with the Jets this spring after he was cut by the Jaguars in March.
The wide receiver has rarely spoken publicly about the shooting, but did say that he has “moved past it” after a practice in June.
“Yeah, life is precious, for sure,” Reynolds told reporters then. “But the more you’ve got to think about it, the more you’re just kind of reliving it.
“And so I’ve moved past it, I’m here in Jersey and ready to get going.”
