Charley Hull reveals details of conversation with Trump at state dinner

Charley Hull received a golf invite from President Trump during her conversation with him at the state banquet Wednesday, she revealed in an interview.

The English golfer, when speaking with BBC Radio 5 Live on Thursday, revealed Trump had also reached out to her agent in 2024 to set up a round of golf, but it didn’t materialize due to her schedule.

“He has said he wants to sort a game out,” Hall said during her interview, according to the outlet. “That is pretty cool. … We are really going to try and sort a game out before the end of the year which will be pretty cool.”

Hull, who’s 29 and ranked No. 5 in the women’s world golf rankings, had previously posted about her appearance at the state banquet and how she “finally” met Trump — sharing pictures of her dress for the evening and writing on Instagram that it was “an unforgettable evening at Windsor Castle” and “one for the memory books.”

“Swapped the golf gear for something a little more fancy,” she also wrote on Instagram.

Hull recently won the Kroger Queen City Championship for her first LPGA title in three years and her third win overall since turning pro in 2013.

Her rise up the rankings also coincided with going viral for smoking cigarettes on the course — though she made an approximate $13,000 bet with English golfer Ryan Evans in March that hinged on Hull not smoking for the next two months.

“I tell you what, I spoke to him for a little while and he is a lovely man and I really got on with him,” Hull said of Trump, who’s an avid golfer. “I will look forward to playing golf with him and he was very engaging with everyone. We were just talking about golf and he knows a few players on the LPGA Tour and some of the guys as well.”

Hull, who isn’t in the field at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship this week, has collected three top-five finishes this year after tying for fourth at the HSBC Women’s World Championship and tying for second at the AIG Women’s Open — in addition to her title in Hamilton Township, Ohio last week.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
