Fugitive teen gunman charged with deadly shooting of apparent innocent bystander, 57, using a walker: cops

A fugitive teen gunman was arrested Wednesday and charged with the May murder of a walker-using 57-year-old Bronx man whose family claims was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, authorities said.

Brandon Sullivan, 18, was attending an afternoon probation meeting when the NYPD’s Violent Crime Task Force closed in on him in connection to the May 18 Fordham Heights shooting that killed 57-year-old Kevin Jennings and wounded a 34-year-old woman, cops and sources said.

He was charged with two counts of murder, a count each of attempted murder, manslaughter and assault, as well as four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said.

Brandon Sullivan, 18, was charged with murder, attempted murder and other counts in connection to the May 18 shooting that killed Kevin Jennings, 57, police said. NYPD

Sullivan allegedly opened fire around 6:50 p.m. at East 188th Street and Marion Avenue – a few blocks from Fordham University, authorities said.

Jennings was struck in the head – and the woman who was simply walking by and considered an innocent bystander was blasted in the leg, cops said.

Both were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where Jennings succumbed to his injuries and the woman was listed in stable condition.

Jennings’ kin told The Post that their loved one was not the intended target, either.

“From what Homicide [cops] told me, he was an innocent bystander,” said a man named Jamal, who declined to give his last name but identified himself as the husband of the victim’s niece.

“He was just at the bodega, getting something to eat, got outside and was eating in his chair,” he said of Jennings. “Then some guys were arguing.

“They weren’t arguing with him. He was sitting by the water hydrant in his chair,” Jamal said.

“Man just goes out to the store and relax[es] and can’t even come back home.

“This is a serious matter that’s going on everywhere,” Jamal said.

By Thursday, cops had not yet established a concrete motive for the violence.

Sullivan’s arraignment in connection to the deadly shooting was pending Thursday evening.

Details on the previous case that landed Sullivan on probation were not immediately known.
