Cape Coral Police responded to a burglary call just after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning and found that a pajama-caped crusader, Kyle Myvett, had already brought a suspect to heel, the department announced in a press release.
Myvett told the detectives he was stirred from his slumber by his wife, who pointed to home security camera alerts. He then noticed someone breaking into his vehicle and rummaging through his neighbor’s garage.

Wearing his Batsuit onsie and his socks, Myvett sprang into action — marching outside and confronting the burglar, cops said.
“Without the person seeing me, I grabbed a hold of their shirt and right wrist and told him, ‘Listen, don’t try to get away, I have plenty of experience with this,’” Myvett told local Fox 4 Now.
“I’m really glad I had my Batman pajamas on because that gave me the extra confidence I needed,” he said.

The 20-year-old suspect, Justin Schimpl, was taken into custody by Cape Coral cops who said he was in possession of two pairs of stolen Ray Ban sunglasses, cash, a bracelet, and some gift cards, according to officials.
“He was taken into custody, he was arrested and charged, he’s facing multiple charges today thanks to Kyle and his Batman pajamas,” Lisa Greenberg with the Cape Coral PD told Fox 4 Now.
Schimpl is charged with three counts of burglary and two counts of petit theft.
