John Mulaney and Olivia Munn were going through it during Coco Gauff’s tense US Open match
John Mulaney and Olivia Munn were on the edge of their seat as American Coco Gauff edged Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic in their first round match at the U.S. Open on Tuesday night.
The “Saturday Night Live” alum and the “X-Men: Apocalypse” actress — who tied the knot last July in New York — couldn’t look away from the action while displaying a series of tense facial expressions, as seen in a video on social media.

At one point, Mulaney was seen leaning forward in his seat and clinching his fists near his face.
“His blood pressure was up,” one person wrote on X.
“[He’s] living every point,” another added.
The No. 3 ranked Gauff fended off Tomljanovic in a three-set battle, 6-4, 6-7 (2), 7-5, that lasted two hours and 57 minutes at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
It comes after the 21-year-old Gauff parted ways with one of her coaches, Matt Daly, and brought on biomechanics expert Gavin MacMillan before the start of the U.S. Open.
Gauff, who has struggled with her serve since her first-round defeat at Wimbledon last month, is still working with her longtime coach Jean-Christophe Faurel.
“Yeah, it was a tough match,” Gauff said in her on-court interview. “I had chances for it to be straight sets. Ajla was tough. It wasn’t the best, but I’m happy to get through to the next round. I’m trying, but it’s an improvement from last week in Cincy.”
Gauff hit 62 unforced errors in her loss to Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in their Cincinnati Open quarterfinal match.
She will face Donna Vekic in the second round of the U.S. Open on Thursday.
