Tom Sandoval Gets Eliminated From ‘America’s Got Talent’ After Judges Panned His Performance
Tom Sandoval‘s time on America’s Got Talent was cut short after America voted the former Vanderpump Rules star and his band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, out of the quarterfinals.
The band’s elimination comes after judge Simon Cowell panned the band’s rendition of The Weeknd’s song “Blinding Lights,” which featured an elaborate production and some surprising dance moves from the Bravo star.

Cowell was the only judge to hit the “X” buzzer during Sandoval’s performance, though he wasn’t the only one who had some criticism to share.
“Well, I like Tom, and I like the band,” Cowell explained during Tuesday’s quarterfinals. “However, you know, judging this performance, it didn’t sound great. Look, it might just be me from where I sat, but that did not sound good, I’m afraid. It didn’t.”
Sofia Vergara appeared to agree to a certain extent, telling Sandoval, “I mean, I loved the dancing. I loved the band. I loved the song. The sound was not amazing, but this was super entertaining.”
This marks the end of Sandoval’s time on the latest of a growing spate of reality television shows.
Sandoval famously landed in hot water in 2023 when he was outed for cheating on his VPR co-star and longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix with their fellow co-star Raquel Leviss. The show returned for one more season to unpack the cheating scandal, but Bravo announced Vanderpump Rules will return in Season 12 with an entirely new cast.
The reality star said his stint on America’s Got Talent could show viewers a different side of him.
“My name is Tom Sandoval, I was the most hated man in America,” he says in a teaser clip shared by AGT ahead of the season. “This is the chance to show w ho I am as a musician.”
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Sandoval said this could alter the country’s perception of him after the Scandoval fallout. “I feel like doing things like this, [with] people seeing me in a different light and seeing me do the things that I love to do and I’m truly happy doing, I feel like it’s a much better way for people to see me,” he said.
Sandoval, who recently starred in The Traitors Season 3, is set to appear on House of Villains. He also competed in The Masked Singer and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
New episodes of America’s Got Talent air Tuesdays on NBC at 8/7c.
