Are Sean McLaughlin And Allyshia Gupta Still Together After ‘Bachelor in Paradise’?
Bachelor in Paradise said goodbye to two couples during Season 10, Episode 8, but only one duo made a last-minute decision to self-eliminate at the rose ceremony. So the question on everyone’s minds is: “Are Sean and Allyshia still together?”
Though they weren’t together from the start of their Paradise journeys, 28-year-old Sean Kaufman and 30-year-old Allyshia Gupta were going steady for several weeks on the beach. If Sean hadn’t gone full Politician of Paradise in Season 10, Episode 8, and aggressively strategized ways to win the half million at the end of the game, perhaps the two could have made it all the way! Instead, seconds before host Jesse Palmer revealed their fellow contestants voted them off the show, Sean and Allyshia self-eliminated in an effort to save face.

“Sean and I came into Paradise looking for love. We didn’t know what else it was going to entail. And the one thing we’re not willing to compromise is our character and integrity, and to have that questioned is very difficult to hear,” Allyshia explained. “But we would like to make the decision to leave together on our own accord. We are leaving here with something so much more valuable than money could ever buy and will continue our relationship back in Tampa and get a big fat bucket of popcorn to watch this all back.” So are Sean and Allyshia still together after Paradise?
Following Season 10, Episode 6, Leslie Fhima went on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast and gave hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt an update on her and Gary Levingston’s relationship status, confirming that they’re just friends post-Paradise. On August 19, Sean McLaughin was also a guest on the podcast, so we have some updates from him, Allyshia, and Bachelor Nation’s favorite spoiler, Reality Steve.
Are Sean And Allyshia Still Together After Bachelor in Paradise?
During Sean’s post-Paradise interview, he chatted all about his connection with Jill Chin, his Birds of Paradise make-out session with April Kirkwood, his relationship with Allyshia Gupta, and their eventual rose ceremony self-elimination. So are Sean and Allyshia still together?
“When we got sent home, I was so excited. We were going back to Tampa together. We had talked about leaving in a relationship well prior to us getting eliminated,” Sean explained. “Looking back, we were spending like every night sleeping in the same room together, [having] all those like meaningful moments. Even like the episode where Kim gets voted off, I had like a mini date where I’m putting a blindfold on her and feeding her chocolates and stuff like that. There’s all these like integral moments in our relationship that really built it up. You didn’t really see it at all, but I was excited to leave and go back and hang out with her.”
“I though I found the most amazing person. I was incredibly excited about our relationship,” Sean continued. “I couldn’t wait to get back to Tampa…” Just as it sounded like Sean was about to say “but” or provide a present-day update on his relationship with Allyshia, Joe cut in to say, “All right, well, we can’t really touch on where your relationship status is now. But I think that really covers everything.” WHAT?!
Though Leslie and Gary gave an update on their post-Paradise romance, since the competition aspect was introduced and we’re getting down to the wire in Season 10, it seems production wants to keep post-show relationship statuses under wraps for potential in-studio finale reveals or some sort of reunion show.
While it’s seems we’ll have to wait to hear exactly what went down between Sean and Allyshia post-Paradise, we do have a solid idea of where the two contestants stand today thanks to Allyshia and Reality Steve.
During Sean’s Bachelor Happy Hour interview, the trio talked about comments that Allyshia made when she was on the podcast — specifically the fact that she said, “I do think that had I come in Day 1 or Day 2, like earlier days, I do think that Dale [Moss] and I probably would have ended up coupled up.”
Sean admitted that hearing the comments was hurtful, and after Allyshia’s interview, Zachary Reality reported that Sean unfollowed Allyshia on Instagram and removed photos of her from his grid. On August 12, however, when Us Weekly asked Allyshia about her and Sean, she said, “Nothing happened. Sean and I are on great terms. We like to have fun with it — it was fun for us. I mean obviously, there’s highs and lows of the whole experience. But at the end of the day, the relationships we walk away with are the best part.:
“Sean and I have walked away with a fantastic relationship — one that we continue,” Allyshia claimed, not specifying if that relationship was platonic or romantic. “I was actually FaceTiming him right before coming into this interview. So, things are great with him. And hopefully things won’t be misconstrued any further…” Sounds like everything’s good, right? Not so fast!
Following Allyshia’s positive comments, on August 15, Reality Steve reported that Sean and Allyshia split. Then, on Monday, Allyshia posted a video to Instagram with the caption: “Waiting for the man I need, but until then we’re all good because I’ve got my girls.”
It seems safe to say that Sean and Allyshia are no more, but stay tuned for more updates as Paradise Season 10 continues.
New episodes of Bachelor in Paradise Season 10 premiere Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC with next-day streaming on Hulu.
