Will There Be an ‘And Just Like That’ Season 4?

And Just Like That… Season 3 ended last night with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) doing her best to embrace life on her own. The HBO MAX show has followed Carrie’s journey from happily married to Mr. Big (Chris Noth) to mourning his sudden death to planning a future with Aidan (John Corbett) that never got off the ground.

In recent episodes Carrie had sparked a connection with her downstairs neighbor, Duncan Reeves (Jonathan Cake). After initially annoying each other, two writers bonded over their respective projects. Carrie offered the non fiction writer key insights on his Margaret Thatcher biography, while he championed her first attempt at a novel. Carrie admitted to friends that he was the first man who saw her as a person first and sexual partner second. After the two finally do hookup, Duncan reveals he has to return to England to finish his book because Carrie is too much of a “distraction.”

So And Just Like That… Season 3 ends with Carrie accepting that both she and her novel’s heroine aren’t “alone,” but on their own. However, if you’re like me, you maybe found it hard to believe Carrie was really happy since she spent the whole finale stressing about her single status.

So is that really how Carrie Bradshaw’s story ends? Is the woman who spent all of Sex and the City searching for romantic, all-consuming love just going to die alone in her big house? Could HBO renew the series for a fourth season? Will Duncan come back?

Here’s everything we know about a potential And Just Like That… Season 4…

Will There Be an And Just Like That... Season 4?

Nope. There will not be another season of And Just Like That... on HBO MAX. And Just Like That… is over.

On August 1, 2025, the official And Just Like That… instagram handle shared a note from series showrunner Michael Patrick King revealing that the show’s two-part Season 3 finale was intended to be the end of Carrie’s journey.

“While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop,” King wrote. “SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the season.”

So, that’s it for And Just Like That… This chapter of the Sex and the City saga is indeed over.

How Does And Just Like That... End?

And Just Like That… Season 3 ends with Carrie living alone in her Gramercy Park duplex while all of her other friends are pretty much booed up. The final montage shows Charlotte (Kristin Davis) with Harry (Evan Handler), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) with Joy (Dolly Wells), Seema (Sarita Choudhury) with Adam (Logan Marshall-Green), LTW (Nicole Ari Parker) with Herbert (Christopher Jackson), and Anthony (Mario Cantone) with new fiancé Giuseppe (Sebastiano Pigazzi).

Everything seems to be tied up except for one very chaotic storyline: Brady (Niall Cunningham) and his baby mama Mia (Ella Stiller). Will Miranda and Steve be in the baby’s life? Who knows? (Who cares???)

This is the end of And Just Like That…
