We hear two men — including NYC restauranteur and hospitality whiz David Rabin — were playing on a Martha’s Vineyard court next to Obama, who had security posted around the outside corners of the area.
“The other guy goes to chase a lob over his head,” a spy told Page Six of the incident. “It’s like he’s showing off for Michelle Obama and he trips! He’s lying on the ground… and she’s looking, and David Rabin is looking, and then they both realized he was actually hurt.”
That’s when the Harvard Law School grad jumped into action, we hear.
“Obama looks at her security guys, like, ‘Go look at him,’” the source recalled. “Suddenly six guys show up on the court. One of them checks on [the injured man], asks, ‘Can you move?,’ and gets him ice packs.”
We hear the Secret Service produced a first aid kit, called for an ambulance, and tended to the hurt hacker while they waited for help to arrive.
But Obama didn’t just leave it to the pros! Our spy tells us she came over to check on the player, introduced herself and even posed for a photo with the injured party.
When we called Rabin for comment, he told us: “Michelle Obama was on the next court and we were giving her her space. But when my brother-in-law fell, she immediately sent her Secret Service team into action. They were amazing and so was she. She came right over and said hi to all of us and suggested a picture”
Rabin — who’s behind NYC hotspots including the Lambs Club, Skylark, American Bar and Temple Bar — says the former First Lady, “saved the day,” and, “could not have been friendlier or cooler.”
“She introduced herself as Michelle,” he told us. “She’s as delightful as I imagined she’d be.”
The ex-FLOTUS even gave Rabin and his pal a tip: “She kept telling us we’re all at an age we need to be stretching”
Rabin’s brother-in-law was taken to the hospital and is recovering from a torn hamstring.
Obama is a regular summer presence in the posh area, where she both vacations and works.
Obama recently appeared alongside her brother, Craig Robinson, at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival to shoot a live episode of their “IMO” podcast.
“This is a special place for us, because, as you all know, this is where we come to enjoy being us,” she told the crowd.
