Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie breaks silence on near-fatal ATV accident

Maddie Aldridge, the eldest daughter of Jamie Lynn Spears, got candid about her near-fatal ATV accident that caused her to be in a coma.

“I did have an accident,” the 17-year-old said in a nearly 12-minute video shared to YouTube Tuesday, detailing her 2017 incident.

“I was in a coma, and I came back to life, and I’m very blessed. So yeah, I’ve just been very accident-prone. I swear my parents are amazing and they did not do anything to me.”

On Wednesday, Spears reposted a clip from her daughter’s YouTube video, saying that Aldridge’s channel was “supposed to be a fun way to document her senior year.”

However, the “Zoey 101” alum, 34, said her daughter is now able to “share the not so fun parts of life too.”

“You can work so hard, and do everything right, yet still face adversity, no matter what path you’re on in life,” she captioned the post on Instagram.

“You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can decide how you react to what happens to you. I know being a resilient person is one of the best qualities a human can have, but it’s only earned by having no other choice but to be resilient,” Spears wrote.

“Gotta trust Gods plan. I’m so proud of this kid, she never lets anything or anyone [get] her down, and sharing her journey through it all hopefully inspires others to never stop going hard for what they want out of life.”

Aldridge was only 8 years old when she suffered injuries in an ATV accident while on a hunting expedition in Louisiana.

At the time, TMZ reported that she was underwater for several minutes after the ATV she was riding flipped over.

Aldridge was then airlifted to a local hospital, where she was listed as being in critical but stable condition.

After a few days, Aldridge was discharged from the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.
