“Very well said Shelby. Yes we will miss him so much 💔💔🙏💔❤️❤️❤️🙏💔,” she wrote, though she has not yet posted a tribute of her own.

Shelby posted a collection of photos and a message about his half-brother last week, calling Brandon an “irreplaceable part of our family.”

“He taught me so much, leaving behind countless cherished memories that I will hold onto forever. For every treasured moment we shared, there are so many more we’ll never get to make together, but I know you’ll still be there. Every hunt, every flight, and in the everyday moments of life, I’ll feel your presence.”

He ended the lengthy tribute by saying the family would always miss him and “ever stop loving, remembering and celebrating you.”

McEntire shares Shelby with her ex-husband and Brandon’s father, TV producer Narvel Blackstock. She remained close with Brandon even after the divorce in 2015, still referring to him as her stepson.

Brandon died after a three-year cancer battle with melanoma, a family rep told Page Six on Aug 7. He was 48 years old.

The singer, 70, refused to take sides when it came to Brandon’s divorce from Kelly Clarkson, whom McEntire is also close to.

“You know, I love them both. Brandon’s my stepson, Kelly’s my good friend… I am pulling for both of them,” she told Extra in a 2021 interview. “I hope they’re happy and healthy and pull though this. I pray everyone gives them the encouragement they can because they need it right now, both of them do.”

“I love the both of them with all my heart,” she added.

She also told Entertainment Tonight that she loved Brandon like he was her own.

“Brandon’s been my son forever it seems,” she told the outlet in 2021, again refusing to take sides in his divorce from Clarkson. “Although he’s my stepson, I still love him like he’s my total — my blood, so I’m praying for ‘em both ’cause I love ‘em both.”

Clarkson and Brandon eventually settled their divorce in 2022 after years of contentious court battles.

Less than 24 hours before the tragic news of the talent manager’s death, Clarkson, 43, announced via social media that she was abruptly canceling her Las Vegas residency. She revealed that her ex had been “ill.”

“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” she wrote via Instagram on Aug. 6.
