Jets make decision on starters for preseason opener vs. Packers
There’s certainly a new philosophy in Florham Park.
Aaron Glenn is approaching the Jets’ first preseason game similar to how he’s handled much of training camp — aggressive and not holding much back.

He will play Justin Fields and the rest of his starters in Saturday’s road game against the Packers.
“Because I want to play,” Glenn said after practice on Thursday. “That’s the reason. I want our guys to play, that’s the reason.”
Glenn did not say how long he will leave the starters in for.
“Every time we go on the grass, the first thing we expect is to win,” Glenn said. “I do. But I expect to win in ways that we talk about in what we’re trying to create during camp. I don’t want to ever go out in a game and everything that we talk about trying to build, how we’re trying to get this team to operate, I want to make sure that’s showing up on the tape. That’s important to me. I want the score to be in our favor, I do, but more than anything I want the things that we’re trying to create to show up every ply that we’re out there. That’s what I’m looking for.”
Glenn’s decision marks a departure from his predecessor, Robert Saleh, who did not play Aaron Rodgers and the majority of his starters at all during last year’s preseason games.
